  • Federal Workers Call Out Double Standard: Trump Demands Office Return While Relaxing at Luxury Resorts

🏢 Trump Orders Federal Workers Back to Office — While Working From Home

One of President Donald Trump’s first moves after taking office was telling federal employees they had to return to work in person.

    📢 What He Said

Trump has repeatedly claimed that government workers aren’t productive at home.

    • “I believe you have to go to work. I don’t think you can work from home,” he said on Feb. 11.
    • “Nobody’s going to work from home, they’re going to play tennis, they’re going to play golf… they’re not working.”

🏠 But Then He Worked From Home

Just three days later, Trump traveled to Mar-a-Lago, his Florida mansion, where he stayed for most of six straight days.

    • While there, he signed executive orders, held a press conference, and ran the government—all from his luxury estate.
    • That same weekend, he did what he accused federal workers of doing: he went golfing. Between Feb. 14 and Feb. 19, he played four times.

    💰 The Cost to Taxpayers

Trump isn’t the first president to golf, but each trip comes at a huge cost.

    • Since January, his golf weekends have cost taxpayers over $18 million.
    • He has already hit the golf course 14 times in his second term.
    • Trump has spent five of his seven weekends as president at Mar-a-Lago.

    🏛️ The Hypocrisy

Some federal workers see a double standard—Trump is forcing them back to the office while spending his own time at luxury resorts.

    • “It’s never about ‘the rule,’ it’s about who’s making the rules,” said a Department of Education employee.
    • “The return-to-office mandate was never about effectiveness… it was always about control.”

Meanwhile, Trump and his administration continue to cut federal jobs while increasing the national debt by trillions, according to budget experts.

At the same time, Trump and Elon Musk, who now leads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), have attacked government workers as lazy.

    • “I feel very badly, but many of them don’t work at all,” Trump said this week.
    • He provided no evidence for the claim.

Despite pushing for government efficiency, Trump has spent most weekends away from the White House—with more golf trips expected soon.

  • House Dems Furious At Leadership

💥 House Democrats Push Back Against Senate Leader Over Spending Bill

House Democrats from all sides of the party are furious with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and are working together to convince Senate Democrats to go against him.

    🔥 Why It Matters

House lawmakers see a tiny chance that they can stop a Republican-backed government spending bill but they need help from the Senate.

    • “There’s a huge effort happening right now, with people still reaching out to their senators this morning,” one House Democrat said.
    • “We just need to convince four or five senators to switch sides,” the lawmaker added.

    📜 What’s Happening

House Democrats are passing around a letter to Schumer, showing their strong opposition to the spending plan.

    • “Americans elected Democrats to fight against Republican chaos,” they wrote.
    • “Instead of giving in, we need to stand strong… we urge you to reject this unfair bill.”

The letter, first reported by the Washington Post, has been signed by 66 Democrats, including many moderates and members from swing districts.

    ✍️ Another Letter Incoming

Democrats on the House Appropriations Committee, led by Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.), are also writing a letter to Schumer, demanding that he reject the bill, calling it harmful and unfair.

The battle is heating up, and Democrats aren’t backing down.
